Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to ask guests who contravene these terms and conditions or who in any other way are behaving in a manner likely to cause distress or nuisance to other visitors to leave the park immediately. In these circumstances the holiday ceases and we shall not be liable for any extra costs incurred by you.

Ruthern Valley is a family park, our guests’ enjoyment and safety is paramount and therefore we ask you to read the Terms and Conditions below before making your booking.

Communal Laundry has coin-operated washing machines and tumble dryers.

Available for hire are Cots (cot bedding is not provided) High Chairs.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE TIMES. Self catering holidays (lodges, bungalows and caravans) start at 4.00pm, Wigwams and Camping Huts/Pods at 2.00pm, Camping at 12.30 on your first day. No arrivals after 8.00pm unless by prior arrangement. Self catering holidays end at 09.30am, wigwams and pods at 11.00am and camping at 12 noon on the day of your departure.

THE LODGE TARIFF includes bed linen and the beds are made up ready for your arrival. The tariff is based upon four sharing. A supplementary charge of £25 per person over four in number will be made.

THE BUNGALOW TARIFF does not include bed linen. Pillows and duvets are provided but you are asked to bring your own bed linen. The tariff is based upon four sharing. A supplementary charge of £25 per person over four in number will be made.

THE CARAVAN TARIFF Pillows and blankets are supplied but you are asked to bring your own bed linen. The tariff is based upon four sharing. A supplementary charge of £25 per person over four in number will be made.

LODGES/BUNGALOWS/CARAVANS. All units are fully equipped and a typical inventory is: all cutlery, crockery and utensils for 5, full size electric cooker (gas in the caravan), floor standing refrigerator, electric kettle and toaster (no toaster in caravan), colour television, sofabed (except caravan), full size bath with shower (sit-bath/shower in caravans), picnic bench. Vacuum cleaners available from Reception/Shop. Electric heating with thermostat and timer on most heaters (gas fire in the caravans).

LODGES/BUNGALOWS. The Lodges and Bungalows have a double bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom except as follows in the second bedroom: Lodge 5, 12 double bed. The caravan has a double bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom.

CAMPSITE. Please note that should you wish to extend your stay beyond the booked dates there is no guarantee that the same pitch will be available. Please consider the use of breathable groundsheets on the grassed areas. The use of generators is not permitted. Every endeavour will be made to allocate guests to the pitch of their choice, however, it must be clearly understood that acceptance of a booking is not conditional on the allocation of a particular pitch. Pitches are available from 12 noon on day of arrival – and are to be vacated by 12 noon on day of departure. Arrivals not accepted after 7.30pm or dark whichever is earlier. If we have not heard from you within 24 hours of your expected arrival we reserve the right to re-let your pitch. Your pitch number and directions to it will be confirmed on arrival. If you are in any doubt whether you are on the right pitch please check with a member of staff. Any guest on the wrong pitch may be required to move.

THIS CONTRACT – This contract is with AM and NJ Johnston, Ruthern Valley Holidays, Ruthernbridge, Bodmin PL30 5LU. A contract exists as soon as we have issued our confirmation letter and you should please check this carefully to see that it reflects your wishes. Please inform us of any discrepancy within 7 days unless your holiday is to start within 14 days in which case you should inform us within 24 hours. The terms contained in this contract do not affect your statutory rights.

GENERAL – All prices include VAT. A 25% deposit is required on booking, the balance to be paid 4 weeks before the holidays begins. We reserve the right to change the tariff at any time to reflect changes in the rate of VAT. We reserve the right to charge for damage done by guests, although we do not normally charge for minor breakages. We hereby formally disclaim any liability for any losses or injury sustained by guests or their property except where negligence on the part of ourselves or our staff is legally provable.

We do not permit anyone who is to your knowledge on the violent and Sex Offender Register or subject to a Risk of Sexual Harm Order or a Child Abduction Warning Notice (or any register, order or notice succeeding these) to use or visit the park – Ruthern Valley Holidays.

We reserve the right to refuse any reservation request at our own discretion. We reserve the right to terminate a reservation at any time and enter your accommodation giving reasonable notice except in the case of an emergency.

SHORTCOMINGS – you must notify us Ruthern Valley Holidays of any shortcomings or complaints immediately so that remedial action if appropriate can be taken. We cannot accept any liability to any shortcomings or claim of whatever nature if you fail to notify us of any complaint during your holiday.

CANCELLATION OF THE HOLIDAY BY YOU – We strongly recommend that you take out holiday cancellation insurance. Cancellations more than 30 days in advance – refund minus deposit. Less than 30 days – no refund. However if we manage to relet your accommodation at full price then we may offer a credit of the same length of stay to be used another time that year. Once a holiday has commenced it is regretted that no refunds can be given if you depart prior to the end of the booked holiday.

CHANGE OR CANCELLATION OF THE HOLIDAY BY US – If we are unable to provide the booked holiday and have had to cancel before the holiday is due to start, you are entitled to a full refund of the money you have paid, except where the cancellation or change arises from an unforeseeable or unusual occurrence outside our control but not limited to: war, threat of war, riot, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire and force majeure and government restrictions on travel.

QUIET TIME 10.30pm – 7.30am – We are in the quietest countryside; there is no background noise so we enforce a no noise policy after 10.30pm for the benefit of you and your neighbours. At other times excessive noise that can be heard from outside the pitch or accommodation or that is to the annoyance of others cannot be made.

SMOKING – All buildings are No Smoking. If you do smoke you must not cause a nuisance to other guests.

DOGS AND PETS – No dogs or pets are allowed on site. Please see our Dog Policy FAQ for the name of a kennel close by.

HEALTH AND SAFETY – We take the wellbeing and safety of our guests very seriously and we ask that you comply with the following:

Cars are parked in allocated spaces and not allowed on the pitches or camping fields. The speed limit on the park is strictly 5 mph. Guests are not allowed commercial vehicles on to the park. No Fires – BBQ’s are allowed but no burning of wood. No radios, music players or TV’s etc that can be heard outside your pitch or accommodation. In the unlikely event of a natural disaster or emergency requiring implementation of the park’s Emergency Action Plan you will be notified by staff. Please make yourself aware of the nearest fire point.

DATA PROTECTION – The information you supply will be stored on computer for administrative purposes. Under no circumstances will this information be provided to a third party. We may from time to time wish to send you news of special offers on our park. If you do not wish to receive any communication from us please let us know.
