Patrick Heron CBE (30 January 1920 – 20 March 1999) was a British abstract and figurative artist, writer, and polemicist, who lived in Zennor, Cornwall.

Dame Jocelyn Barbara Hepworth DBE (10 January 1903 – 20 May 1975) was an English artist and sculptor. Her work exemplifies Modernism and in particular modern sculpture. She was one of the few female artists of her generation to achieve international prominence.

Benjamin Nicholson, OM (10 April 1894 – 6 February 1982) was an English painter of abstract compositions (sometimes in low relief), landscape and still-life.

George Peter Lanyon (8 February 1918 – 31 August 1964) was a Cornish painter of landscapes leaning heavily towards abstraction.

Lubaina Himid (born 1954) is a British contemporary artist and curator. She is a professor of contemporary art at the University of Central Lancashire in the north-west of England.

Naum Gabo 1890-1977. Constructive sculptor and painter. Born in Briansk in Russia, named Naum Pevsner. Lived and worked at Carbis Bay in Cornwall 1939-46.
